Al-Shihani: Targeting Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters is a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty and requires a firm official stance.
The political media officer of the Sadiqoon, Hussein Al-Shihani, condemned on Wednesday the attack on the heroes of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the targeting of their official headquarters, considering it a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and a direct attack on state institutions and its security forces, stressing that this attack cannot be dealt with as a passing incident or a transgression that can be overlooked with silence.
Al-Shihani explained in a post on the “X” platform that such attacks require a firm and clear official Iraqi stance, calling for deterrent political, diplomatic and legal measures to ensure the protection of security forces and official institutions, preserve Iraq’s sovereignty and dignity, and affirm its legitimate right to protect its lands and people.
He stressed that any party that believes it can violate Iraq and attack its forces without being held accountable should realize that Iraq’s patience does not reflect weakness, and that its sovereignty and national security represent a red line that cannot be compromised or violated under any circumstances.
