The Al-Sadiqoon parliamentary affirmed today, Friday, that the positions articulated by the General Secretary of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, during his televised interview yesterday, represent responsible, patriotic stances regarding a number of issues concerning state sovereignty, the stability of state institutions, the future of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the regulation of relations among national forces.
In a statement, the bloc said it had followed with interest the televised interview with His Eminence Sheikh Al-Amin, noting the positions and visions he articulated regarding national, sovereign, and security issues. The bloc indicated that his emphasis on addressing the issue of arms specifically that this must be done within the framework of the Iraqi state, the government, and its constitutional institutions represents a clear and responsible stance on one of the most sensitive issues of the current period, serving to safeguard Iraq's sovereignty and strengthen the rule of law and state institutions.
It noted that emphasizing the institutionalization of the Popular Mobilization Forces and selecting its leadership based on professional and institutional standards, independent of factional affiliations constitutes a significant national vision for developing security and military institutions, enhancing their efficiency and discipline, and ensuring they fulfill their duties in protecting Iraq and its people.
The Al-Sadiqoon affirmed that the positions and visions put forward by Sheikh Al-Amin constitute a working agenda and a national path for the bloc, noting that it embraces their substance and is working to support and translate them into practical stances and steps within the Council of Representatives.
The bloc emphasized that major sovereign and security issues should be managed through responsible national dialogue and in accordance with the constitution and the law free from political bargaining or narrow interests in a manner that preserves Iraq’s sovereignty, stability, and the unity of its national decision-making.
