Al-Tamimi: The parliamentary finance committee intends to host ministers and governors to prepare a comprehensive plan for water and wastewater treatment projects.
The head of the Sadiqoon parliamentary and chairman of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, Uday Awad Al-Tamimi, announced on Tuesday that the committee intends to host a number of executive officials in the government with the aim of developing strategic plans to address the water issue and sanitation projects.
Al-Tamimi said in a press statement that the Finance Committee will host in the coming days the Minister of Water Resources, the Minister of Municipalities and Public Works, and the Mayor of Baghdad, along with a number of governors, with the aim of discussing the water projects file and coming up with an integrated plan that ensures the allocation of the necessary funds for their implementation.
Al-Tamimi added that the upcoming meetings aim to develop an integrated plan to allocate the necessary funding for water purification and desalination projects, wastewater treatment, as well as completing the "Al-Bid'ah Pipeline" project in Basra Governorate.
