The Sadiqoon condemns the targeting of Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters and calls for an emergency parliamentary session to protect Iraq's sovereignty.
The Sadiqoon parliamentary condemned in the strongest terms on Wednesday the attack that targeted a number of Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters, including the headquarters of the Fourth Regiment - Brigade (30), which, according to circulating information, resulted in the martyrdom of a number of fighters and the injury of a number of mujahideen.
The bloc affirmed in a statement that this attack represents a serious violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and an unacceptable transgression of international law and the United Nations Charter, stressing that this escalation affects Iraq’s security and stability, and requires a unified national stance that preserves the country’s sovereignty and prevents the recurrence of such attacks.
The Sadiqoon held the relevant authorities responsible for taking all necessary diplomatic and legal measures regarding this attack, calling on the House of Representatives to hold an emergency session to investigate the circumstances and discuss measures to protect Iraqi sovereignty and preserve the lives of the Iraqi people.
The bloc reiterated its assertion that the blood of the martyrs will not be shed in vain, and that defending the sovereignty of Iraq and the dignity of its people is a national responsibility that does not accept leniency or compromise.
In closing, the Sadiqoon prayed to God Almighty to have mercy on the martyrs and grant them paradise, to grant the wounded a speedy recovery, and to protect Iraq and its people from all harm.
