The Sadiqoon parliamentary affirmed on Sunday that completing the legislation pertaining to the Popular Mobilization Forces represents an important legislative entitlement and a clear national responsibility that falls upon the Parliament and the government, without delay or procrastination, and in accordance with the rights of state institutions and their members.
In a statement, the bloc stressed the need to expedite the completion of legislation pertaining to the Popular Mobilization Forces, to ensure fairness for its members and to guarantee their legal and professional rights, in accordance with their status as an official institution within the state's security system.
The Iraqi government has clearly and explicitly demanded that the Popular Mobilization Forces Law be sent to the House of Representatives as soon as possible, and that it not be subjected to any administrative or political delays, stressing that these laws represent a legal and national entitlement that should not be postponed.
The Sadiqoon also stressed that the Popular Mobilization Forces Law should not be subject to any personal blackmail, political bargaining, or factional calculations, and that dealing with it should be based on national interest and legal rights, far from any attempt to use the legislation as a pressure tactic or political bargaining chip.
The bloc indicated that its position was clear and firm in supporting these laws, stressing that it would continue working within the House of Representatives to complete and approve them, in a way that guarantees the legitimate entitlements of the Popular Mobilization Forces and strengthens its role and position within the institutions of the Iraqi state.
