The General Secretary of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, His Eminence Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, affirmed on Tuesday that the immortal 1920 Revolution represents a pivotal national milestone that established the values ​​of dignity and patriotism in the history of modern Iraq, coinciding with the 106th anniversary of its launch.
In a statement on the anniversary, Sheikh Al-Khazali said that the 1920 revolution was not just a military confrontation against the British occupation, but rather constituted a historical transformation that reshaped Iraqi consciousness and proved that the land of Iraq does not accept submission to invaders, no matter how powerful they are.
Sheikh Al-Khazali explained that the 1920 revolution was a purely Euphrates revolution par excellence, manifested in its human momentum and ideological depth, indicating that the authentic tribes of Iraq and the noble religious seminary in Najaf were the real fuel and the main driving force of this national epic, as they planned the revolution and responded to the fatwa of jihad, and confronted the British forces with firm faith and unwavering determination.
His Eminence added that Iraq, as it faces various challenges, is today inspired by the principles of the revolutionaries of the 1920s, stressing that the sons of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the security forces who made sacrifices in the battles to liberate the land from the terrorist ISIS gangs represent the natural extension of those revolutionaries, and that the blood that was shed in defense of the homeland is the same blood that carried the banner of resistance in 1920.
Sheikh Al-Khazali pointed out that the 1920 Revolution will remain the spiritual father of all Iraqi battles of honor, stressing that Iraqis will continue to follow its path in defending the homeland, preserving the land and maintaining national sovereignty, in a way that ensures that Iraq remains dear and proud, and that its sovereignty is protected and inviolable.
