The Sadiqoon parliamentary affirmed on Saturday that the draft law on the Popular Mobilization Forces can no longer tolerate further delay or procrastination, demanding that the necessary legislative procedures be completed quickly and referred to the House of Representatives for a vote.
The bloc said during a press conference held in the House of Representatives building that the draft law represents a national and constitutional entitlement to preserve the rights of the Popular Mobilization Forces members and the families of martyrs and wounded, noting that it had previously sent an official letter to the Council of Ministers to demand that the draft law be sent and the legislative procedures related to it be completed.
The Sadiqoon stressed that the deadline for sending the Popular Mobilization Forces bill represents the last opportunity, warning that any delay after that would be unjustified, while calling on the House of Representatives to exercise its constitutional and oversight powers to ensure that the bill reaches the parliament.
The bloc indicated that the scenarios for the package of oversight measures will begin immediately after the deadline set to ensure the enactment of the Popular Mobilization Forces Law, reiterating its position rejecting any postponement or procrastination that affects the rights of the Popular Mobilization Forces members or delays their fair treatment.
She pointed out that enacting the Popular Mobilization Forces Law represents a national and constitutional entitlement to preserve the rights of its members and the families of martyrs and the wounded, stressing that those who made sacrifices in defense of Iraq deserve to be treated fairly and have their rights guaranteed through the enactment of the law.
The Sadiqoon parliamentary reiterated that it will not accept any delay affecting the rights of the Popular Mobilization Forces members, and will not delay doing justice to this institution that made sacrifices in defense of Iraq, calling for proceeding with the necessary procedures and passing the law in a way that guarantees the rights of the Popular Mobilization Forces members and their families.
